Pass [P 50–59%]

To be awarded a Pass for this task, all aspects of the task must be completed, and the work must be the author’s own except where cited works of others have been used. The requirements of all criteria must be met at a satisfactory level as described by the standards statements.

• The learning activity plans provide descriptions of activities, which include an introduction, what will be done during the activity, and how the activity will be concluded.

• The focus concept/s have been identified and described in each learning activity plan.

• The learning activity plans support language and literacy with one plan relating to visual literacy, one relating to ICT and one relating to home language and culture.

• The activities and resources/props selected are appropriate in the context of Australian early childhood education and the age group.

• An attempt has been made to align to the EYLF or AC.

• The ideas of other authors’ work have been indicated through attempts at APA referencing.

• The writing is generally free from spelling and grammatical errors.

Credit [C 60–69%]

To be awarded a Credit for this task, the work must fulfil the requirements of the Pass grade but at a higher standard, as described by the standards statements.

• The selected resources and related learning experiences/activities reflect a strength-based approach.

• The choices in the learning activity plans enhance learning in ways that are meaningful, not just tokenistic.

• Readings and additional literature sources have been cited and referenced using mostly correct APA conventions.

• The word count (+/-10%) has been adhered to.

Distinction [D 70–79%]

To be awarded a Distinction for this task, the work must fulfil the requirements of the Credit grade but at a higher standard, as described by the standards statements.

• Each learning activity plan is concise, yet coherent, and well-integrated as a whole (i.e. the focus concept/s, learning activity, age group, resources/props, and curriculum links, are cohesive).

• Careful and thorough proofreading has resulted in work that is obviously not a ‘first’ draft; the work, as a whole, is professionally presented.

• Citations are provided where the work is not the author’s original work, with corresponding reference entries that predominantly adhere to APA referencing conventions.

 

 

High Distinction [HD 80–100%]

To be awarded a High Distinction for this task, the work must fulfil the requirements of the Distinction grade but at a higher standard, as described by the standards statements.

• The selected resource and activities show genuine respect for children’s diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

• There is evidence of creativity and originality across the folio.

• The folio is professionally presented and obvious care and attention has been taken in its planning, editing and proofreading. It is free from ambiguity and contradiction.

• Critical reading has been a feature in the planning. • High level engagement with the literature (readings,

learning materials) and wider reading is evident. • APA conventions have been followed correctly in the

citations and reference entries.
